Address That Handle You is an effective curriculum based program created by Grown Folks Business, Inc. (Nonprofit Public Charity) for the purpose of educating others of the dire need to ”address” whatever is buried deep within us and to get a ”handle” on ourselves; especially in a broken/toxic world. This establishes awareness and accountability. Therefore, we present to you written, verbal, and visual content to strengthen and ”test” humanity.

Since our official nonprofit acquisition in 2017, GROWN FOLKS BUSINESS INC. continues our mission: To provide many recipients with the best services and programs from New York to California. Our goal is to bring forth a “Head Strong. Hands On. Head On.” daily practice of BMD Health Awareness through education, support, advocacy, heavily supported with The Arts which serve as therapeutic outlets.
Throughout the years, we continue our commitment to providing quality programs and services through “hands on” dedication to our communities.

Today I want to share an essay I wrote called “Self Respect, Dress Codes, and Our Environment. This was an assignment I had to do for my Writing Critical Inquiry class with Professor Orr while attending UAlbany. This class was very interesting to me because it showed me a broader perspective when it comes to different styles of writing. In this essay I discuss my memories growing up in the Bronx. How my parents raised me and my brother in a place that was considered a war zone with moral character. I also talk about my experience at UAlbany as it related to the dress code inside the classroom.

Today I want to share my thoughts on a story I read about a few weeks ago, regarding a woman from the Bronx who was murdered in her own home. Domestic violence hurts everyone involved. I can personally relate to that because I lost a family member to domestic violence. I always paid attention to Domestic violence because I experienced this first hand through my relatives. Women are not supposed to be the victim of any violence let alone in the hands of someone who claims they love them. Ladies, a man doesn’t love you if he wants to separate you from your family or punch your eyes out. I want to share my experiences the day that I lost my family member and how it impacted me and the rest of the family.

As a man with females in his family I became more concerned about inappropriate dressing and bringing awareness to my point to why we must teach our children respect for self and others.
